Seibold+Baker’s History
Almost all of you know Seibold+Baker as the large Midwestern rep group you see today. Our beginnings were humble but rooted in the same culture of commitment we share today. We have and will always be committed to our customers, our manufacturing partners and our values: We will always be committed to acting with integrity towards each other, our community and our environment. Through this commitment Seibold+Baker has grown from being a one-man operation to the large regional rep group you know today. The firm was founded in 1971 in Perrysburg, OH by Jim’s father Bill. Bill represented several great manufacturers, and some of those relationships continue to this day. Bill also brought on some great reps, including Dick Farley, John Russin and Jerry Miller. Jim joined the firm in the early ‘80’s and by the mid-90’s Jim became the president of the firm and Bill gradually moved into more of a consultative role. The firm was enjoying significant success, and to cement and continue that growth, Marty joined as a partner in 2004. Combining Jim’s extensive rep knowledge and Marty’s dealer and manufacturer experience Seibold+Baker was born. In 2007 Brent Weirtz merged his rep group with Seibold+Baker bringing his expertise and success as well as a strong set of lines to continue our growth throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky. Seibold+Baker expanded into Illinois in 2014 with key manufacturing partners and solidified that expansion with the addition of Marty’s son Colin in 2016.
While we may not make calls in three-piece suits anymore or have lunch-n-learns on freighters, we are still the same customer-focused group and we are committed to that never changing. We believe in our values and because of those values and wonderful customers like you Seibold+Baker’s last 48 years has been filled with growth. We cannot wait for you to join us on the next 48 and beyond!
